Calibre Tutorial: The All-in-One Ebook Management Tool
Calibre: Too Many Ebooks and Can’t Manage Them? One Software Handles It All
Solves in one sentence: Ebooks downloaded from different sites have inconsistent formats, messy titles without covers, and won’t work on your Kindle? Calibre solves all ebook problems in one place.
Anyone who loves reading ebooks has experienced this: hundreds of ebooks on your computer, some ePub, some mobi, some PDF. Titles are a mix of Chinese and English, many have no covers, and author info is all over the place. When you try to transfer them to your Kindle, the format isn’t supported. You want unified management but can’t find the right tool.
Calibre was designed for these scenarios.
What Is Calibre?
Calibre is a free and open-source ebook management tool covering the full ebook workflow: format conversion, metadata editing, cover downloading, reading, device syncing, and content server.
The problem it solves: Turns your chaotic ebook collection into an organized library that flows freely between devices.
Core Features
Format Conversion Supports conversion between 20+ formats: ePub, mobi, azw3, pdf, txt, docx, and more. Conversion preserves formatting, table of contents, and images, and can automatically adjust styles.
Metadata Management Automatically downloads titles, authors, covers, descriptions, tags, and more. Supports batch editing — you can organize dozens of books at once.
Device Syncing Connect Kindle, Kobo, and other ebook readers for one-click book transfer. Automatically detects the target device’s supported format and converts.
Content Server Start the Calibre content server on your computer, and you can download books directly from your phone’s browser without a USB cable.
Built-in Reader Supports reading multiple formats with bookmarks, search, and notes.

“At first I thought Calibre’s interface was too complex, but after a month I found every feature useful. Without it, I couldn’t manage my 2000+ books.”
