OpenHashTab Tutorial: One-Click File Hash Verification via Right-Click
OpenHashTab: Verify File Integrity With One Right-Click
Solves in one sentence: Not sure if a downloaded file is corrupted? See SHA256/MD5 right in the file’s properties — no need to open a terminal and type commands.
After downloading system images, large software, or important files from the internet, many websites provide a hash value (MD5 or SHA256) for you to verify file integrity. But the problem is — how do you actually verify it?
The usual approach is to open a terminal and type something like certutil -hashfile or Get-FileHash. For most people, this isn’t very user-friendly.
OpenHashTab simplifies the verification process to the extreme.
What is OpenHashTab?
OpenHashTab adds a “File Hashes” tab to the file properties window. Right-click a file → Properties → “File Hashes” tab — the hash values you need are already calculated.
The problem it solves: One-click file hash verification in a graphical interface, no commands to remember.
